M.B.S. D II EL 105 - AB 12
The tenth and eleventh models will be M.B.S. D II EL 105 - AB 12
The reason for this is to complete EL 101 - 106 series in all versions that these cars have known.
It will be built like the version above with Imbert wood gas generator.
This also means that AB 12 will be the fourth Allan carriage in the M.B.S. collection.
Unlike AB 1, AB 7 and AB 14, AB 12 does have the improved ventilation sliding windows, which make the D II immediately recognizable, but also, just like the motor car, the covered headlights.
This control car was destroyed on June 19, 1944 when it collided with a tree at the Malden north interchange, after the rear truck set went straight, while the rest of the tram was already driving on the curved track.
The AB 12 curled around the tree between the tracks, killing two and injuring many.
It was never rebuilt, but was sold in 1946 along the other passenger equipment to R.T.M.
Construction report from M.B.S. EL 105 D II
The construction of Maas Buurt Spoorweg Mij. EL 105 (often referred to as D II 'Diesel 2') was announced in April 2023.
As a guide, the original drawing by M.B.S. EL 106/EL 105 (D I and D II) used and adjusted where necessary from available photo material.
The motorcar is built in the version as it drove in 1943 and 1944, complete with wood gas installation.
The associated steering carriage AB 12 will be in another construction report.

The original construction drawings of motor cars EL 106 and EL 105, as they were also used at the time by M.B.S.
Note that the sloping of the roof of the motorcar on the side of the control car was never implemented, this remained in the original straight design of the postal baggage wagons.
There is another old construction drawing that once came into my possession, here the straight roofline of the motorcar is correctly shown, but the layout is completely different.
For example, the subframe with the diesel engine and generator is not located on the left but on the right, longitudinal benches have been drawn near the passage, the left side wall has a full complement of windows without a sliding door, the steering position is located on the right instead of the center and the steering carriage has sliding windows to improve ventilation.
Furthermore, many dimensions are drawn, but the drawing is not dated.
This is probably an original sketch of D I EL 106 - AB 14, so from 1933 or even earlier.
The top drawing was ultimately implemented and executed, without the sloping roof part on the side of the carriage.
The Imbert wood gas generator was a special case.
This installation had one of the largest bunkers in the Netherlands at the time with 1.6 m3...!
The pre-cleaners were mounted between the bogies under the wagon floor, the gas coolers were on the roof and the bunkers with all other necessary items were set up in the luggage compartment.
